I say that for some kids it can be helpful. I was a leash kid and would have gotten horribly lost without one as a kid. i liked running away from my family and exploring when i was like 2-6. This was also when we traveled to places like mexico city. So in some cases I think it is best for the safety of a child. Especially neurodivergent people like me.
