When the temperature climbs high enough, common sense starts looking like an optional feature. Air conditioning gives up, proper swimming pools remain financially unrealistic, and suddenly anything capable of holding water becomes a tempting summer escape.
At some point, summer heat turns everything into pool, at least according to people determined to cool off by any means necessary. The results range from surprisingly clever to deeply questionable, with homemade swimming spots that look less like relaxation and more like a construction project nobody finished.
Still, when the sun is merciless and the water is cold, standards tend to drop quickly. Suddenly, “Is this safe?” becomes a question for tomorrow.
