But humanity has always been a complete mess, leaving behind a trail of bizarre chronicles and ancient oddities that school textbooks conveniently ignore. Some of these crazy historical facts from long ago make modern reality look entirely sane. People back then did absolutely ridiculous things for survival, fashion, or just pure boredom.
