Hoping to raise awareness about environmental protection and the deadly toll of the Mexican drug war in Mexico, artist Pedro Reyes transformed 6,700 firearms used in the conflict into musical instruments. The project turns symbols of violence into tools of creativity, using sound and performance to highlight the human cost of armed conflict in Mexico. By repurposing weapons that once caused harm, the work invites reflection on peace, transformation, and the possibility of change through art.
