Playgrounds are supposed to be fun and safe, but some sketchy playgrounds raise more questions than they do laughter.
Whether it’s bizarrely placed slides, oddly shaped climbing structures, or downright disturbing design choices, these spaces make you wonder what was going through the designer’s mind. Were they just oblivious, or did they know exactly what they were doing? Some of these designs are so questionable that parents probably have second thoughts before letting their kids anywhere near them. From unsettling sculptures to playground equipment that looks unintentionally suggestive, it’s hard to believe these ever got approved. It’s one thing to create a unique play area, but it’s another to make something that looks straight out of a bad joke.
If you ever stumble upon one of these sketchy playgrounds, you might find yourself asking whether it was built for kids or just to confuse and horrify adults.
