The last phase of the Chadian-Libyan conflict is called the Toyota War. Military operations on the territory of Chad were in the period from 1978 to 1987, in which the armies of Libya, France and the armed forces of various parties of Chad were involved.
The war ended in 1987 with the complete defeat of the Libyans, who lost a tenth of their army, 7,500 soldiers were killed on the battlefield, in addition, Chadian troops seized military equipment worth millions of US dollars from the Libyans. Chad’s losses amounted to 1,000 soldiers killed.
